Head Space Daily Words...
She chats to the audience without a care in the world, telling stories and joking around as if you're out for a drink down the local pub. Then, the music starts up and she goes to another place. Her eyes close and what comes out of her mouth is a beautiful sound. Andreya Triana is an exceptional vocalist and song writer. I have now seen her live four times and with each performance, she steps it up. More confident, self assured, at ease with the audience and all these factors breed creative bravery. Her first album, 'Lost Where I Belong,' is really good but the songs are so much stronger live. The new tracks she played sounded great - more upbeat, musically expressive and showing greater freedom through the confidence she has gained over the past couple of years. Hopefully more of the live feeling will be captured in the new record's production. She rounded off last night's show by coming down from the stage and into the audience with her guitarist to perform a version of Chaka Khan's 'Ain't Nobody' and everyone else in the room was thinking the same thing - that nobody does it better than Andreya Triana...
