Since mid August my working life has been
the dominant force but it would now appear that I will have to make the switch, as my non-working life looks like it will be in charge until the end of the
year. This means being around a lot more for my kids and taking my youngest to
and from school, which is nice. It also means that I should be able to update
my blog more often and also take care of domestic duties, like snaring the
pesky mouse that has been gnawing through packets of flour in our kitchen
cupboards. Why I oughtta!! My only knowledge of mice comes from when a lad who
lived in the same student house as me, clobbered a mouse so hard with a
saucepan that it’s insides shot out of it’s rear end and also what I learnt
from Tom and Jerry cartoons. I have visions of removing the bottom of our
cupboard and having a hundred pairs of squeaky eyes stare back at me, belonging
to super intelligent mice, who understand every word I say, can probably read
my mind and are destined to take over the world. Then again, if I just put down
a trap and some bait, that should see off the little pest…
