Head Space Daily Words...
A couple of calls to put out for work, update my Linked In page, devise a plan of action for tomorrow and out once more into the cold London air. This time I stumbled into unchartered territory in Bloomsbury and Lambs Conduit Street, an interesting little road running between Guilford Street and Theobalds Road. It possessed a laid back feel and a pub named 'The Lamb' which just called out to you to enter it's inner sanctum and spend the day drinking ale and consuming pie. Maybe next time...

On a day when I could hardly feel the ends of my fingers and the cold would have caused my dad to say when I was growing up, "it's too cold to snow," photo opportunities were at a premium. This light bulb in a restaurant on Exmouth market caught my eye though, with it's clear glass and large zig zagging filament. As my brother is a purveyor of quality light bulbs, I will have to consult him on the model, design and catalogue number...

Cymande - Dove
This is a track that can send shivers down my spine. One of the greatest instrumental pieces of music ever made in my honest opinion and an immense slice of deep funk - from Camden's finest...

Out and about today. Lunch and a catch up via an art gallery with my good friend Karen from West One Music. The price of art(and I didn't think it was all that,) is mind blowing. Then on to Soho. I still get a buzz from being in the centre of town, which reminds me of why I wanted to move to London all those years ago in the first place and why I still love being here. Always new things to see, nutters to avoid, low lives, high lives, the clueless, the innovators and records a plenty to be bought...

This picture sums up London for me in many ways. The old, the new and the creatively bonkers. I forgot to note down who this sculpture in Hanover Square is by but it looks like a papier mache lightning bolt. To the right is a tall, old mansion type building which was possibly owned by some dandy fop, loosely linked to nobility and is now probably a 'gentleman's' club. To the left are industrial cement mixers being used for work on the Bond Street station expansion and cross rail interchange. London - a nod to the past and a wink to the future, with a blue lightning bolt in between.

Jon Lucien - Would You Believe In Me
It's been a busy day and now I'm alone with my record player - the ideal moment for some Jon Lucien - and this tune is just about perfect. Sit back, feet up and breathe...

Head Space Daily Words...
I have always thought of chimney sweeps as sooty faced, grimy blokes locked in English Victoriana. Today I had the pleasure of meeting two real life Dick Van Dykes - a father and son duo from the company S.Pearce Chimney Sweep - and there wasn't a dodgy cockney accent in sight(see below for photo.) Amazingly, the art of sweeping has been passed down through the generations, since around 1750, when the company was first established as a family business. Incredible to think that in all that time, the same basic function of sweeping a chimney has hardly changed. Long rods, circular brush. Seeing the brush sticking out of the top of your chimney is quite a thrill - trust me...
